My son, Pedro Henrique , is four and a half years. Two things he likes to do is play and color. Almost every day he asks me to play something: Super Smash Bros.., Zelda, Spider-Man, Mario Kart Wii, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Super Mario Bros 3, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men Vs Street Fighter, Pocket Fighter, Mega Man 2, 3, 9 and so on ... Almost every weekend we spent at the newsstand and bought those magazines of activity, filled with drawings to color. There are several characters, but no games.
One day I decided to combine the two hobbies of it using a bit of technology: I looked for pictures of games on the internet, spent a few commands in Photoshop, and voila! Drawings of games ready for coloring! The process in software is quite simple: 1) you load an image either (can be up photo, but here I deal with illustrations), preferably with high contrast (if you have a white background, it is best to color it before using the bucket Pretre same) 2) go to the following menu Filter> Sketch> Photocopy (magic happens here) and adjusts the measures Detail and Darkness (varies from image to image, then there is a pattern, it is necessary to make "eye" even) 3) Finally, choose Image> Adjustments> Levels (or Ctrl + L) and sets the first point of the bar to the right (dark traces) and the third point to the right (to clear any areas of granules). The outcome is more or less like the picture that opens this posting. It is not perfect, but very suitable for print and give to the kids put into practice the craft skills.
I then decided to share here on the blog, for any parents gamers, the illustrations that I have prepared for Pedro. Today a public gallery of Mega Man, the boy-robot blue armor from Capcom. Just give a right click on the image and choose "Save link as ..." to save the picture on your HD. Then adjust the print settings and move the activity to (a) small (a) artist. Soon, pictures of more games ready for coloring!

I did just that. Asset to the Photoshop action and she only paused to adjust the values of the filter Photocopy and Levels. Then save and gone. The same problem is to print correctly, as each illustration is a different size. I did not care much for this bid size paper, but a few settings in print options, depending on the software, everything right now cease. ^ ^

What cutest thing. Gave me even missed my little books of color. xD
Maybe I'll print some to play with my watercolors, over the weekend.
(If I ever have kids, I hope they are gamers like yours. Hauhaua xD)

I always say that whoever does not is a father, a day will be (at least most), and a parent gamer has very high chances of forming a child gamer. Then there are the shows, is to train watercolor, is to practice a little color in Photoshop, is to do as I did. ^ _ ^

Well, more or less. He finishes are well advanced stages of Super Mario Galaxy has managed to finish all the crowns of 50 cc of Mario Kart and SSBB is final and Capcom fighting games (usually put him in minimal difficulty, to soften the task) . But this age is not so much attention to meeting the goals, but in fun. So whenever he sees or does or finds something funny, he stops and forgets the goal. xD
